A wood entry deck might look fine for a few years, but eventually the staining, sealing, warping, and splinters catch up with you. That cycle gets old fast. This is exactly why composite decking paired with aluminum handrails has become one of our most requested builds.

Here's what we were working with - a back entry that needed a clean, safe, and durable upgrade. We built out a landing deck with wide composite stairs and wrapped the whole thing in black aluminum handrails. The contrast between the warm brown composite boards and the matte black aluminum is sharp. It lifts the entire look of the entry without trying too hard.

Composite decking is genuinely low maintenance. No annual staining. No worrying about rot or splinters. You just clean it off when it gets dirty and that's about it. The aluminum rails hold the same way - they won't rust, they won't corrode, and they don't need paint. For a high-traffic entry point, that matters a lot.

The handrail system also isn't just about looks. That kind of solid, secure railing makes a real difference in everyday safety, especially on stairs. We run the rails tight and level so there's no flex or wobble - it feels as sturdy as it looks.

If your entry deck is overdue for an upgrade, this kind of build is worth a serious look. It's one of those improvements that pays off every single day.
